Backbone Media's Schwartz Communications Online Marketing Strategy Selected as a 2004 MITX Awards Finalist
Schwartz’s Website Recognized as One of New England’s Best Online Marketing Strategies
Boston, MA (October 14, 2004) – Backbone Media, Inc. today announced that its Schwartz Communications Online Marketing Strategy has been selected as a finalist in The 9th Annual MITX Awards. Held annually by the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange, the MITX Awards recognize excellence in the creation of interactive technologies designed, produced or developed in New England.
Begun in 1996, the MITX Awards have grown to become the most prestigious awards competition for New England’s interactive professionals, as well as the largest technology awards showcase in the country.
“Once again, our submissions came from virtually every segment of the economy,” said Kiki Mills, Interim Executive Director of MITX. “Taken as a whole, our awards show how, in less than a decade, interactive technology has become a core technology for businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, and many other industries.”
In February 2004, New England's Largest Public Relations Agency, Schwartz Communications contracted Backbone Media to help them redesign their website, generate leads and complement existing channels. Backbone enlisted Bowman Design as a partner in the project and together they produced an integrated B2B strategy that combined content assessment and messaging development, website redesign, content management, email and real-time reporting and analysis with a best practices search engine marketing strategy.
The results speak for themselves, according to Steve Schwartz, President of Schwartz Communications: “Since the new website launched we have noticed a substantial increase in qualified leads that come in through the web. Backbone Media, Inc. / Bowman Design will be recognized with the other finalists in the category of Online Marketing Strategy at a gala awards ceremony traditionally attended by over 800 of the region’s top technology and business professionals. The finalists were judged for strategic use of online marketing to deliver on a specific goal or objective. This category considered all the components of the online marketing strategy - media, targeting, creative and measurement. Winners will be announced at the ceremony in the Boston Copley Place Marriott on Wednesday, November 10th. Tickets can be purchased at www.mitxawards.org.
